Challenge #5

In your own space, tell us about 3 creative/fannish resources, spaces, or communities you use or enjoy. (One or two is fine, especially if you're in a smaller fandom or like many people at the moment, fannishly adrift right now) Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

1. Tumblr.  This year, 2023, would be my 10th anniversary on Tumblr.  I wasn't on it for all 10 years, there were a couple years of hiatus in there, but Tumblr is probably the fandom space that I'm most used to at this point.  As an anime fan, I tried to be on Twitter because that's where most of the Japanese (and other Asian) fandoms are, but I always seem to default back to Tumblr only because Tumblr have tags, I obsessively tag everything I reblog, and I like to find things I reblogged and it's impossible to do that on Twitter.  It's not perfect, and often frustrating, but I'm probably going to be on there until it dies for good.  Here's my Tumblr: [tumblr.com profile] RFujinami

2. SquidgeWorld Archive.  I'm actually not too familiar with them since they are a very old archive from an era of fandom that's before my time.  I only know about them because they are the only fanfiction site that used AO3's open source software since that's been available since 10+ years ago.  They also do other things like webhosting, image hosting, and podfic hosting.  If I ever start doing fanart, I will definitely keep this website in mind.

3. TVTropes (no link, too much of a time sink).  But only for older fandoms.  I wasted spent an ungodly amount time there when I was still in school.  I find it to be a really useful resource for small, obscure, or older fandoms; but I'm not too fond of it for bigger fandoms.  It's a website that anyone an edit, like a wiki, so use caution.   I've also discovered things to watch/read just by browsing there, but your mileage may vary.
